Character Designer

Job Description

We are looking for a talented and imaginative Character Designer to join our creative team. You will be responsible for developing unique, visually engaging, and expressive characters that align with the tone, story, and target audience of our projects. Your designs will play a vital role in storytelling, character development, and visual branding.

Job Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design original characters based on scripts, storyboards, or creative briefs.

• Develop turnarounds, expression sheets, and poses to convey personality, movement, and emotion.

• Collaborate with writers, art directors, animators, and 3D modelers to ensure design consistency and production readiness.

• Refine character designs based on team or client feedback.

• Maintain style guides and visual continuity across all character assets.

• Research and incorporate cultural, historical, or thematic references to enhance authenticity and uniqueness.

Skill Required

• Strong portfolio demonstrating character design skills, originality, and storytelling ability.

• Proficiency in digital illustration tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, or similar.

• Solid understanding of anatomy, proportion, silhouette, color theory, and costume design.

• Ability to design characters for different styles — realistic, cartoon, stylized, etc.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to take direction and revise work quickly based on feedback.
